I’m sitting here by the ocean enjoying the final warmth and breeze of the Dominican Republic. (and thinking of the snow and cold awaiting us at home.) It has been an amazing trip and we are so thankful for the many blessings. We have enjoyed our time with Phil and Donna Williams and the other wonderful folks here.
This morning we all went out to the site to do final work and see the clinic. We said goodbyes to our new friends and co-workers. The men stayed on through lunch to help put up the interior walls. The ladies came back to finish up the computer work, the video making and the file organization.
We are getting ready to go to the pastor’s house to say “goodbye” and then head to the airport. Our flight leaves for Miami at 5:30 pm. We will stay overnight there and then travel to Dallas and then St. Louis. And then home Saturday afternoon!

Thanks for the prayers to get us home! We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Thank you so much for all of the updates.Have a safe flight home.I’ll keep praying.
I ‘ve been following your pictures and comments with interest each day and admire the strength, patience, and stamina it took from all of you to be able to do the physical labor in the heat; something I could not have done because of my health problems. It’s wonderful that you really got the new clinic building going and the hardest part done. That will give the local people the encouragement and enable them to complete it on their own. I’ve been wondering how Bob endured the hard work after the recent knee injuries from falling on his stairs at home.
I do have one question: Could I buy that beautiful red pickup that’s loaded with wonderful items? If not, could i travel to the DR for long enough to set it on fire? Maybe one of you were able to do that as your last act of kindness and God’s love for the people there? Poverty does a lot of terrible things to people, including robbing them of the energy and incentive to make the best of their surroundings by cleaning up eyesores and pollutants. Maybe some of the local congregation will be inspired by their new clinic to do something about the pickup and other trash in their community. Welcome home. I hope you are all rested enough to be able to be at church tomorrow.
